Logitech has demonstrated over the past two years that the future of its peripherals is wireless, with Lightspeed technology and the Power Play wireless charging system being two important components behind this strategy. The new G502 Lightspeed mouse seems at first glance a simple wireless alternative to the successful G502 Proteus Core/Spectrum model of previous years, but is there a lack of thread to convince users to choose it over the “classic” version?
For the G502 Lightspeed, Logitech has chosen the easy way: if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. Thus, we are dealing with the same design loved by gamers everywhere, the original G502 being the company’s most popular gaming mouse model (and even in the world, according to some statistics). The differences on the outside are few, but on the inside, we have to make a series of some interesting news.
It is about the integration of the new Hero sensor with a resolution of 16,000 DPI, the proprietary wireless technology Lightspeed, which ensures lag-free use, comparable to the wired one, as well as compatibility with the Power Play system. Those who already have such a mousepad bought for previous compatible models (G703, G903 and G Pro), can use it without problems with the new G502 in a wireless version. All you have to do is replace the round back cover with the Power Play magnetic charging module. As Power Play also provides communication between the mouse and the computer, the Lightspeed wireless receiver can also be placed under the cover, as it will no longer be used.
HyperX Cloud Alpha
Carrying the fruits of the long legacy of HyperX Cloud excellence, Cloud Alpha has an excellent sound and creates quality with well-made essential features.
