Any time that you’re planning to take an international trip, it’s important to do a little bit of research on the destination—even before you leave your house. Simply go to your favorite search engine and put “adventurous things to do” along with the country that you’re preparing to visit and you’ll immediately see links that will give you all kinds of great information. What’s even better is that if you’re going somewhere as a couple, by adding “romantic things to do” to the search, you’ll find activities and sites that are especially for you and your significant other.
Learn some key phrases. If you’re not someone who knows much about other languages, that’s OK. English is a language that is spoken all around the world. But, if you want to be able to make an immediate connection with the natives of where you are headed, try and learn some key words and phrases like “hello”, “please” and “thank you” along with “Where is the bathroom?” and “Do you speak English?” if you’re really in a bind.
Don’t rent a car. Unless you’re planning to go to a place where there’s plenty of rough terrain, our recommendation is to not rent a car. Instead, look into if there are bicycles that you can rent and also, don’t forget to take some hiking boots so that you can do a lot of walking through nature too. In fact, for this reason, remember to take some comfortable clothes and a rain jacket as well—just in case.
Choose a romantic hotel. Even if you planning on “roughing it out” by going camping or staying in a rustic cabin for the majority of the time, towards the end of the trip, try and book a reservation at a romantic hotel. It’s a special way to get some rest, relaxation and romance in before heading back home.
